What. A. Weekend! The summer season is now truly underway, and the final weekend in April provided a memorable pair of league matches, and representation for George in the London Mini-Marathon. George represent the North East in the U15 boys race on Saturday on the famous course, putting a fine performance. Well done George! Also on Saturday, several of our U20's helped our Senior League team to a stunning win in the first fixture of the season at Whitley Bay. Great turn out from Blyth this morning with all athletes running hard. A close race between Henry and Bob in the U11's, followed by Lily and Amelie working hard all the way to the line in the U13's. A dominant race by Blyth in the U15's with George securing the win followed by Dexter in 5th and Penny 19th girl. Beth then had her debut in the senior race, picking off her competition one by one. 600m U11. The boys all did themselves proud battling nerves and the unknown of track races. Alex - 2.02 Noah - 2.13 Henry 2.17 800m U13's more first timers getting used to the rules and pressures of tough races. Both battled through the line and came away with great times. Jack 2.57 Tom - 3.02 Lily - 2.54 ran a great consistent race for her opener of the season. 800m U15 Jamie ran a great race taking control of the pace and gliding in for a great win and pb. -2.16 u15 girls PBs for both Kimi and India as they showed real strength into a tough headwind in the 75m hurdles. Kimi also PBd in the 100m with a race win, with a solid long jump to finish. India threw an outdoor shot PB. U17s Very close race for the boys being boxed in at times.
