Last weekend saw 5 Team Blyth athletes competing at the highest level at the England Athletics Champs, which also incorporated the Euro U20 trials.
Alfie Ward took a fantastic U23 Long jump silver with a best of 6.86m, an outdoor PB Katilyn Waddell was 7th in the U20 Hammer on Friday night, with a best of 47.21m Luke Pichler took a fine 5th in a high quality u20 decathlon, setting a new decathlon PB of 6590pts Sadie Parker was involved in an extremely close long jump competiton, with her best of 5.78m being just 13cm shy of the England u20 podium. Senna Gorvett finished 4th in her 400m Hurdles heat on Saturday, before racing over 100m hurldes where she again finished 4th in her heat. It is fantastic to have so many Blyth athletes competing at this level, they should all be very proud of themselves.
