It was a stunning night of athletics at Gateshead, with many of our athletes making their first outings of the indoor season, resulting in a plethora of PB’s and club records.
Abigail Huntly opened her season with massive PB’s in both the 60m and 60m Hurdles, as she showed her genuine class. Alfie Ward blitzed to a swift 7.33s 60m, whilst Ben Compton improved his seasons best in the shot put with 9.81m before shaving a couple of hundredths off his 60m PB. Elliot McLoughlin made his club debut, and stunned with a time of 7.45s in his first ever 60m race. It was a fantastic night for Fearne Bell, who recorded a PB of 1.20m in the high jump, before taking 0.8s off her hurdles PB. Hollie-Anne Sudder had a night to remember, as she broke the outright club record for 60m with her first ever sub-8 clocking, 7.96s. She followed this with a PB in the hurdles. Isla Bell was delighted to start her indoor season with an =PB in the high jump of 1.40m, whilst Luke had a great night in the pole vault, as he equalled his PB and made major technical progress. Later on in the evening Luke made a messy debut in the 60m hurdles, but made It safely across the line. Coach Nigel scored a 60m PB of 8.01s, whilst Senna Gorvett opened her season in the high jump with 1.50m and clear progress with her approach and technique. Talia Green scored PB’s in both the 60m and shot put to continue her fine start to the indoor season. Results
