Senna Gorvett took her first national title on Sunday, becoming Scottish u20 indoor pentathlon champion at the Emirates Arena in Glaglsgow. It was a fiercely contested event, with Senna Exchanging the lead with her 2 closest competitors throughout the day. Senna started with a massive hurdles PB (9.33s), followed by a 1.60m high jump - a near perfect start to the day - however the opposition were also firing on all cylinders. A below par shot put created some tension and frustration, but that was eased with a strong opening jump in the long jump, followed by an excellent 5.24m in the last round. Senna went into the 800m in 2nd place, but she took the race by the scruff of the next and led from front to take the race win in a huge PB of 2:26.83s to secure her first national title with an overall points PB of 3397pts, the best by a North East athlete this decade.
