Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our funding co-ordinator Clair Southern, we are delighted to have received a fantastic grant from Blyth Town Council. Recently the Mayor of Blyth and local Councillors came down to the track to see some of our training groups in action.
With the funding, we have purchased indoor sportshall athletics equipment including turning boards, speed bounce and standing long jump mat, which will allow us to develop our new indoor sessions at Bede and also will allow us to run the Blyth Sportshall Athletics Series once again this winter. We have also purchased a state-of-the-art Freelap timing system which is a fantastic training aid and will help us really develop performance within the club.
