Whilst it was stormy and wet outside, 10 of our Team Blyth juniors took the opportunity to compete indoors at the Northern Indoor Open at the world-class English Institute for Sport in Sheffield. Alexander was our only boy taking part - and showed fantastic composure on his first visit to what can be an intimidating venue. Alex produced a stunning new PB in the high jump of 1.35m, before PB's also in the Long jump and 150m. India was our sole U13 girl - also picking up 3 PB's. Her Hurdles and 150m races were superb, with a real highlight being her 6.33m shot put PB. Caitlin was in fine form, as she took another tenth of a second off her 60m PB, before a superb 150m run which will give her great confidence heading into 2024. Izabela, Fearne and Aman were all making their Sheffield debuts. All 3 girls had a mixed long jump, whilst out on track Aman produced a brilliant first ever U15 hurdles race, whilst Fearne and Izabela set 60m PB's. All the girls raced in the same 150m heat, with Aman just pipping Fearne in a photo-finish for the win. Sadie set the bar high in the U17 hurdles, with a club record 9.11s to finihsh fastest. Abi and Senna pushed each other to new PB's in the same race, before Amber won her heat, also in a massive PB. Amber secured a 60m PB and had a strong long jump, whilst Abi set a new LJ PB of 4.65m. Isla set her 2nd 60m PB in the space of 3 days, before both Senna and Isla worked hard in the long jump with a mixed bag of results, before finishing the day with hard-fought 300m's in which they both finished strong.
